“Belvoir Banter”… The first Visit Belvoir Newsletter!

Not sure whether to hug you all or apologise! Decide when you’ve read through this!

Thanks for signing up for the “Belvoir Banter” newsletter and becoming my virtual guinea pigs for this first, rather experimental newsletter.

While a lot of us are in semi-hibernation during January…. if I can tempt the duvet from over your head for a second, there are some things worth getting excited about over the next few weeks.

For starters, let’s mention the biggest comedy festival in the UK starting 7th Feb. As well as the Leicester events, there are some great spin-off events taking place in Melton and Waltham on the Wolds.  Plus tonnes of events at the comedy festival for kids too.

Something else people do straight after Xmas is to plunge headlong into a fitness regime… a great way of staying motivated is to sign yourself up for a sporting challenge – you’ll be less likely to back out and make excuses. Rope a friend in too – much harder to bail on a planned run or cycle if you’re letting someone else down too. There’s a wealth of sporting events you can sign up for over the next year. You’ll find a few here on the latest blog post….

Massive thanks to local businesses who have come forth with very generous offers this month:  Starglaze Windows have offered a huge 40% off all orders of windows and doors placed with them by 18th February. They are a long-established family-run business based in Lincoln.

Go Cruise travel will pledge £20 to Dove Cottage hospice for every holiday booked with them before the end of February 2018. Go Cruise are a long established tour operator based in Bottesford.

If you’re heading out for coffee why not try either Bakehouse Deli in Long Bennington or Clocks Tearoom in Aslockton – they have generously offered 20% and 15% of the total bill respectively – see the vouchers below for the full T&C’s.

Peter Cowell PGC has offered £10 off your initial consultation with him. He practices CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) which looks at how our thought habits impact our feelings and behaviours. Peter has clinics in both Cotgrave & Radcliffe.

Buy your Saturday night house vino from The Geese & Fountain in Croxton and they will kindly only charge you house wine prices!

And finally! After you’ve bought your new double glazing, booked a cruise, got your head sorted, been for coffee & cake (twice) … head our to the King’s Arms in Scalford for some Sunday lunch! Until the end of Jan it’s just £8.50 for a roast and all the trimmings, plus if you buy 2 large glasses of wine they’ll chuck the rest of the bottle at you for free.

Whether you’re attempting dry Janaury, Tryanuary, Veganuary or Heffalumpanuary all the offers mentioned above are summarised below in handy tear off format.

Please support our local businesses whenever you can!
And… don’t forget to check the events page for inspiration for your days & night’s out!

It would also be great to hear what you think of the first newsletter! I will be inviting contributions from business owners & readers over the next few months so if you fancy scribing a few words or would like to contribute an offer, please do get in touch 🙂 .

Here’s to a great 2018!
