Brrrr! Are the darker nights and chilly weather getting you in the mood for Christmas yet? If so, you’ll be pleased to know the countdown has officially begun to the annual Christmas lights switch-on in West Bridgford, sponsored by The Botanist. The fun kick-starts on Sat 24 November on Central Avenue, Gordon Road and Gordon Sqaure with lots of great offers and activities at local shops and cafes, festive music and street theatre, children’s fairground and busy food and gift market featuring over 60 independant local businesses.This year’s stage performers include Plumtree School at 1.30pm, The Tuneless Choir at 2.30pm, The Liberty Choir at 3.30pm and singer Katherine Dryden. at 4pm All the action leads up to the big switch on at 5pm and firework finale.
This year we welcome the return of the YouNG Christmas Market on Gordon Square, outside the Test Match Hotel. Look out for stalls by lots of brilliant young entrepreneurs aged 13-21 plus performances by up-and-coming musical stars, free santa’s grotto and a christmas tree trail.
