The Tavern: The Enchanted Faeryball 2018 7.30pm
Tickets available from www.enchantedfaeryball.co.uk
Back in January 2013 I created some posters and tickets for Lesley Morgan for her Faery Ball which was going to be held at The Grange later in the year. Sadly Lesley passed away. Determined to not let this legacy fail, Mark Frisby and Roma Thais (now Marks Wife) called an extraordinary meeting at The Crown I think? I went along to see if new posters would be needed. I ended up joining the team. It was a great honour to serve Roma’s “Dream Team” an incredible group of individuals who were determined to see this event carry on as Lesley’s legacy. Now on its 10 year anniversary, Roma and Your new Dream Team I wish you Good Luck on Saturday. Gig Guide Pete x

The Brandy Thieves:
Already renowned as one of the Midland’s best live acts, The Brandy Thieves have quickly built a reputation as a band that blows the roof over every venue they play, a band that’s impossible not to dance to. By combining gypsy rhythms and punk energy, ska grooves and folk storytelling, the band has created a sound that is uniquely their own, A sound that has stolen the hearts of all of whom that have seen them perform. ‘Raucous’ ‘Infectious’ ‘Enthralling’ ‘Captivating’ and ‘Sweaty’ are just a few of the words that have been used to describe the alcohol stealing gypsy punks. The last two years have witnessed the band sharing stages with the likes of Robert Plant, Sleaford Mods, Jimmy Cliff, Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Alabama 3, Skinny Lister, Ferocious Dog, Neville Staple (The Specials), The Dub Pistols, Urban Voodoo Machine, Toploader & The Rumjacks to name a few. The five piece are sure to be the highlight for many gig and festival goers, The Brandy Thieves are a band not to be missed.
The Brandy Thieves are Andrea ‘The Tattooed Woman’ Kenny, Cain ‘The Sauce Boss’ Barriskill, Joe ‘The Cravat’ Carey, Chris ‘Superboy’ Swirles & Sebastian ‘Morningstar’ Mikolajczyk.

Goldwater:
Psychedelic Psychotic Preachers famed for their frenzied live performances that will make you stomp, and shake with their urgent and savage sounds.
Blending heavy blues, 60’s psychedelia, and rabidly intense rock, Leicester’s GoldWater offer an unforgettable and energetic live performance that has to be seen to be believed. Live shows often descend into chaotic happenings as their wild, psychotic lead singer clambers through the crowd preaching over the urgent, thundering band.
GoldWater formed from the ashes of a host of Leicester’s top bands (The Dirty Backbeats, Ego Armalade, Moonlights, Platforms). In three short years, their unique, theatrical sound has helped them graduate from supporting the likes of Alabama 3, Urban Voodoo Machine, Skinny Lister, King King and Ferocious Dog to selling out hometown shows and storming a host of festivals.
The band have subsequently packed out every single hometown gig culminating with their biggest headline show at Dryden Street Social this October with Co- Headliners, Hell’s Addiction. 2018 has seen the band take their blistering live performances to new heights, spreading their wings with shows in Birmingham, Nottingham and Derby as well as headlining the Riverside Festival, Foxton Locks Festival, Barefoot Festival and performing a widely acclaimed mainstage slot at Off The Tracks, Simon Says Festival and Hockley Hustle.
2018 saw GoldWater release a savage slice of monolithic psychedelia – Warpath. This new single is an epic slab of urgent rock and roll described as Motorhead meets Motown and has been recorded at the famed Seamus Wong Studios, Leicester.
Don’t miss the electrically eclectic GoldWater tear the roof of a stage in 2019!
Eastwell Village Hall: ‘Sam Green and the Midnight Heist’ 8pm
A modern, independent Artist with universal appeal; Sam’s music has served as the foundations on which, he has built a strong reputation as a live act combining virtuosic musical skill with great song writing. From a live show, you can expect original songs inspried by a love of Grunge, Blues, Alt-Folk and Country, presented with percussive acoustic slide guitar as well as hypnotic rhythms created live with the use of stomp-box and loop-station.
His travels have taken him and his music to some of the most highly respected venues and music festivals in the world. In 2013 Sam Played Glastonbury Festival for the first time, where he and his band were described by the Independent Newspaper as “One of the hot new acts making the summer swing.” Since then, he has spent the majority of his time touring the U.K and Europe, consistently playings festivals such as Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, Boomtown and Shambala, alongside independently releasing his music.
March 2017 saw the release of Sam’s first full length solo album ‘Just Stand Still’ a record which tells the story of coming home to his Devon and laying down roots on which to start a new chapter. The album features eight new songs written at home on an 8-track recorder and developed over the space of a year and finally produced at Pound House Studios near Braunton.
Sam appeared in 2017 at the world famous Sziget festival in Budapest along with his band. He then spent the rest of the 2017/18 winter season on the road as a solo act promoting the release of his ‘Just stand still’ album and opening for acts such as Wildwood Kin, Danny and the champions of the world, The Undercover hippie, Echo town and Wille and the bandits.
At the start of 2018, he then released a brand new EP entitled “Onsette Return” under the name ‘Sam Green and the Midnight Heist.’ The new EP displayed a heavier rock sound than his previous release and was described as a collection of “Classy songs” by Peter Maher, a renouned mastering engineer who has worked with The Rolling stones, U2, Jack White and Newton Faulkner.
As a touring Artist, Sam has travelled far and wide all over The UK and Europe under his own name since 2010. After having played guitar and written music in numerous Alt Rock, Americana inspired bands since his teens; Sam took a long backpacking trip around South America and returned home in 2010 with a note book full of new songs, inspired to get out on the road and play his new music as much as possible.
Since he first set out on his own, Sam hasn’t really had a chance to look back. His percussive acoustic slide guitar style, combined with stomp box and Loop-Station, have served as a foundation; on which he has built a strong reputation as a live act with universal appeal. His one-man-band shows are raw, intimate offerings of virtuosic slide guitar, percussive rhythms, engaging song writing and a soulful, blues inspired voice
n 2013, Sam released the ‘Miles Away’ EP, the debut release from Sam Green and the Midnight Heist and began to build his relationship with the UK festival circuit playing stand out shows at The Isle of Wight festival, Secret Garden Party, Shambala and Glastonbury where The Independent Newspaper described the band as “One of the hot new acts making the summer swing”. Along with members of his band, Sam followed the release of the ‘Miles Away EP’ in 2014 with the ‘Wide Awake EP’ and in 2016 with a live recording entitled ‘Factory Studio Sessions’
Filmed and recorded in Bristol, where Sam was living at the time.
