Applique Lantern Sewing Workshop | Saturday 16th February | 10pm – 4pm
Mary Hall is the perfect tutor to help you get to grips with your sewing. Full of creative and inspirational ideas she will guide you step-by-step to make your own original applique and embroidered design that will then be mounted on to a lantern. A simple yet beautifully creative piece of work to take centre place in your home.
The lantern will stand about 12cm high by 10cm wide and can be lit by a battery operated tea light to give it a wonderful glow, (light included). This workshop is perfect for beginners who have never touched a sewing machine before and for intermediates who are looking for some inspiration.
What is applique? To sew or stick pieces of fabric on to (a garment or larger piece of fabric) to form pictures or patterns.
All machines, materials and light refreshments and a 2 course homemade lunch served with local wine are included. Alternatively feel free to bring your own fabrics if you prefer.
This workshop is perfect for absolute beginners or people who want a new project.

“I had the great pleasure of working along side Mary at our summer workshops and being a keen sewer myself I was honestly blown away by her creativity, skill and patience. She is a very skilled tutor, full of ideas and truly talented. She really inspired me to get my old sewing machine out again and get working on some new home furnishings myself! I am looking forward to working with her again and seeing what she is making next”. Amanda, Rural Antics Event Host.
