Hare Workshop
Join us on this creative two-day workshop and make your very own gorgeous March Hare. Located in our 100sqm craft barn you will take in the beautiful surrounding views of Hanwell Wine Estate. Guided by expert tutor Gaye she will take you through step by step to sew your Hare together. It includes machine and hand sewing, turning narrow limbs and 2 methods of jointing. The adding of features to the face and felt clothing construction.
This workshop is suitable for anyone confident with a sewing machine to sew using a normal straight stitch. A small amount of hand stitching is required. This workshop is not suitable for people with dexterity or shoulder problems as stuffing is involved.
All materials are provided, if you have your own sewing machine then please bring it, we have 2 machines onsite available on a first-come-first-served basis. Refreshments throughout the day and a two-course vegetarian homemade lunch served with a glass of wine are included on both days.
On day one you will make the hare and on day two the jacket and add the finishing details to your hare.

About your tutor Gaye Parker
I am a textile artist working mainly in textile construction but I love making all sorts of things using sewing. I have learnt from many sources throughout my life starting with my mother. Now that I am retired from the NHS I can draw on my experiences. I produce my own patterns combining old and new techniques. I love to work with beautiful natural fabrics like Harris Tweed and Abraham Moon tweed, silk, mohair and Viscose fur, 100%cotton in particular Liberty.
I enjoy teaching and like to share some of my wealth of knowledge with my students so you can enjoy producing lovely works of art too.
I have an adult teaching certificate, I am a qualified NHS professional (retired) and a qualified Aromatherapist.
