Funky Foraging Feast
Friday 27th September 2019 | 10am – 12.30pm
This two and half hour workshop will be led by Penney Poyzer, a former presenter for BBC2, an author and multi award winning environmentalist. The Independent on Sunday named her as “one of 100 British women of the last century who have changed the world”. She is an eco pioneer and a national expert and media pundit on sustainable living.
Penney is also a popular host for cooking demonstrations and has worked with a host of star chefs from Antonio Carluccio, James Martin, Cherish Finden and many winners of Bake Off.
Penney is a passionate forager and foodie but as she said, “Like lots of busy women, I don’t always have time to go on a long foraging walk but everyday I have to walk the dog and think about what I’m making for dinner”.
One day, whilst walking to the park, Penney was enjoying looking at the variety of plants in front gardens and trees on the street and it suddenly struck her how much of it was edible – and, drinkable! She made a list of all the edible plants she saw along the walk to the park and listed all the edibles from the park too.
Being a very keen cook, Penney started to experiment with recipes – her aim was to create fun, delicious, totally seasonal, hyper local food and drinks that fitted in with her busy life – and didn’t involve shopping! Come to the Funky Foraging Feast workshop and take home new skills that will transform your relationship with food and the environment.
The workshop style is friendly and interactive, Penney’s wealth of anecdotes will keep you in stitches.
The workshop programme will feature:
