The Black Swan ‘The Monuments of Rock’ 9pm
‘The monuments of Rock n Soul are four musicians with a penchant for the bygone days of the 50s and 60s with some of them having lived it and others wishing they’d been there. They are a four piece completely live band covering rock classics from the Who, the Rolling stones and Chuck Berry to soul classics like Otis Redding and Wilson Picket with pretty much everything in between with lesser copied bands like marmalade and The Honeycombs in their set. They all come from within the Leicestershire County with a main goal of playing a tune you will know but may not have heard for a while but will definitely know.
The Noels Arms: ‘Rapture’ 9.30pm (Debut)
Playing timeless epic tunes, some “out of the box” and some “in the box” all delivered with passion. No music stands or jogging bottoms….JUST ROCK!
The Genny B (Generous Briton): ‘Indigo’ 9.30pm
Looking for a great night out listening to real music by real musicians? Then head on up to the Generous Britton this Friday where you’ll find all the ingredients for a fantastic night of music by popular three-piece band, ‘Indigo’. (Please note! Not to be confused with INDIO Black!)
Indigo was formed in 2009 and soon gained a solid reputation around the pubs and clubs of the East Midlands, playing covers of classic hits from the past five decades. Indigo comprises of Annie (bass guitar, backing/occasional lead vocals), David (guitar and lead vocals) and Cameron (drums, backing/occasional lead vocals). Performing an eclectic mix of numbers from the Beatles era of the 1960s through to more recent releases from the likes of The Fratellis, Kings of Leon and The Killers, the band prides itself in the use of finely tuned harmonies throughout their set. A firm belief that all their music should be played truly live resulted in a conscious decision to eschew the use of pre-recorded backing tracks and any electronically generated sounds. Dancing shoes a must! Indigo will keep you rocking well into the night.
The Grapes: ‘Sounds Rite’ 10pm
Brothers John and Ronnie Horton, two local lads who make up the popular singing duo ‘Sounds Rite’. They first performed together back in 1972 in a band called Triax, which enjoyed many years success until they disbanded 18 years ago. However due to their love of music John and Ronnie chose to continue to perform as a duo. Since then they have been regularly performing and filling pubs and clubs in and around Melton, playing Rock, Pop and Ballads from the last five decades. Their next performance is due to take place at the Grapes this very Saturday evening.
