The Noels Arms: ‘Easy Stride Band’ 9.30pm (Debut)
Easy Stride Band take influences from reggae, soul and breakbeat to create uplifting and energetic music that delivers positivity and incites a party.
Formed in 2015, Easy Stride Band use a deft fusion of soul and reggae to create upbeat, feel-good music, combining live vocal and guitar loops with deep bass and head-nodding beats. This easy-going yet infectious rhythmic sound sets the scene for dancing, smiling and party vibes. Fun, fresh and fantastic! Easy Stride Band’s catchy and vibrant sound comes from the minds of Joe Fleming, Noah Burton and Benny Brooke. Joe uses a loop station to layer guitars and vocals in real-time to form complex soundscapes, backed by Noah on electronics while Benny lays down the big bass, forming a unique blend of melody and groove that refuses to be pinned down. Immediately captivating, this uplifting trio scream positivity and celebration, a sentiment which is echoed through the band’s performance style; their enthusiasm for the music shines through in their live shows and has engrossed audiences across UK venues and festivals including Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party, Bestival, Boomtown and Wilderness.
The Black Swan: ‘Baker’s Treat’ Duo 9pm
Adapted from a writeup from my good friend Ian Perks:
“Formed in 2002 Bakers Treat are very different from the usual Guitar-based bands on the pub and club scene. Originally with Dave Nimmo on Sax and Harmonica, Alan Wilce on guitar and not forgetting Nigel Baker on trumpet and lead vocals. Now with Nigel and Dave performing in their Duo Format.
Bakers Treat have a varied and dynamic sound, and a natty line in waistcoats. Added to this the guys sing and there are excellent vocal harmonies throughout. Their set is full of catchy numbers that everybody knows, Tiger Feet, Pretty Woman, Daydream Believer, Spirit in the Sky, Stuck in the Middle with You and Shangalang. they also feature a tribute to Motown. which is sure to get you up dancing. Their rendition of Baker street, with Dave on sax is indeed a treat it really is as good and moving as the original! So good to see Sax in a band! They perform all over Melton, so for a fun enjoyable night out go and see them.”
