Returning for it’s fourth consecutive year this two day event takes place in the stunning grounds of Belvoir Castle on 17th and 18th July. The opening hours for both days are 0945 to 1630. The weekend will feature appearances from various well known specialists and experts on the talks stage, along with some glorious floral demonstrations by Jonathan Moseley. We are also pleased to welcome back T.V’s David Domoney who will be appearing on the Sunday. In addition, award winning local and national growers will provide you with the chance to purchase that something special for your garden. There will also be a selection of garden furniture, sculptures and tools to tempt you.
Inspiration may be gained from the beautiful Show gardens and borders, who will once again be battling it out to win the coveted Duchess of Rutland Trophy, if you need a moment to relax you can do so to the sounds of local artists on our live music stage, while treating yourself to some of the delicacies and refreshments on offer.

David Domoney

Horticulturist and familiar face on TV. David will be appearing on the Sunday
David Domoney is a seasoned gardening television broadcaster and currently presents on ITV’s ‘Love your Garden’, ‘Love your Weekend’ and is also the gardening presenter for ITV’s ‘This Morning’. He is a winner of 30 RHS Medals with two Best in Show category trophies and the Prince Edward Award for Horticulture Excellence. David is also known for pioneering campaigns Cultivation Street as well as Illumination Street, brightening up Britain’s streets at Christmas. David also writes a gardening column for Grow Your Own magazine, and his first book My Houseplant Changed My Life was published in 2021 with DK Books.
Jonathan Moseley

International Floral designer, Jonathan will be demonstrating the art of flower arranging on both days
Jonathan is one of the UK’s leading names in floral design and he has become synonymous with seasonal flowers arranged with his unique flair and sense of style. Jonathan is an accomplished broadcaster, demonstrator and teacher with over 28 years experience. He is an honorary member of The Institute of Professional Florists and an ambassador for British grown flowers.

Garden Designer and Author
Professor David Stevens is one of the best known garden designers in the world with 11 Chelsea Gold medals and numerous other awards around the world. He has written 21 books on garden design and is both a regular broadcaster and communicator on all matters horticultural.

Mark Smith
Local Radios very own ‘Garden Guru ‘will be on hand to provide horticultural advice.
He has worked professionally in Horticulture for over 30 years and has experience in all aspects of the trade from retail Garden Centre plant management to having his own consultancy business. For over 10 years now he has been lending his knowledge as the gardening expert on BBC Radio Derby and now Radio Repton, the spare time in his timetable is spent doing regular gardening talks for clubs and W.I`s.

John Stirland
with over 50 years of gardening expertise local Radio gardening ‘Legend’ John will be on hand to answer your questions.
John has spent his whole career in horticulture starting with an apprenticeship at Boots and working up to becoming a lecturer at Broomfield College, Derbyshire. During much of this time he has been a regular local radio broadcaster, television presenter and in recent years a show advisor for the RHS.
John is also part of the BBC radio gardening team, appearing on BBC Radio Leicester.

Martin Fish
Horticulturist, designer, author and National Show Judge, Martin will be comparing the talks arena and helping answer your garden questions.
Martin Fish is very much a hands-on gardener with over 40 years practical gardening experience under his belt. He started his career in horticulture as an apprentice gardener and by 21 was the youngest head gardener in the country. Martin now writes for several gardening publications, broadcasts on BBC Radio York, is an active speaker to groups and societies, and presents weekly Facebook gardening videos called Pots & Trowels. He is also a senior RHS Judge and a Garden Advisor at RHS Harlow Carr.

Jill Fish
Jill Fish has worked in the family gardening business since leaving teaching many years ago. She has always enjoyed cooking, so when confronted with large amounts of fresh produce from the garden, she started to collate recipes. This resulted in a book called Gardening on the Menu, co-written with Martin who covers the growing side. Jill broadcasts regularly on BBC radio about cooking produce from the garden, she writes recipe features and gives talks and demonstrations to groups with Martin.

Rob and Rosy Hardy
Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants – RHS Chelsea Gold Medal winners
Hardy’s began very modestly in 1988 from a car-boot sale. Hardy’s is still very much a family-run nursery, offering an unrivalled selection of 1,200 varieties of herbaceous perennials. These are all grown outside in peat free compost, at our 13 acre site in the beautiful Hampshire village. Rob and Rosy have also achieved many awards over the years including an outstanding 24 RHS Chelsea Gold Medals.

Gareth Wilson
High end garden landscaping
Having worked in the landscape industry since 1989, constructing high-end landscape projects throughout England, Gareth has also been awarded nearly 30 Royal Horticulture Society (RHS) awards for Show Garden construction, seven Gold medals, seven times Best in Show, three times People’s Award, best Construction Award, along with The RHS Best Trade Stand at the Chelsea Flower Show. Gareth is the ideal person to be demonstrating some landscaping techniques for us in July.
