Festive Willow Weaving Angel Workshop
Saturday 30th November 2019 | 9.45am until 12.15pm
Get into the festive spirit this season and join us to make a beautiful willow weaved angel. It will be the perfect Christmas decoration for your home. Decorate it with lights, hang baubles on it or give as a gift to your loved one. The perfect way to start the festive season!
Our talented tutor Chris will guide you through the process step by step in this fun hands on activity. Showing you how to work with the willow and sharing with you her years of experience and knowledge of tools and materials; by the end of your session you will have made a lovely handcrafted Angel.
This workshop is suitable for complete beginner. All materials and tools are provided along with refreshments and a glass of local wine.

Outline of the day
9.40am Light refreshments and settle in
9.45am Welcome and introduction on the history of willow
Demonstration on how to work with willow
Get hands on making your Angel
11am Refreshment break enjoy a cup of tea or a glass of local wine with a mince pie
12.15pm Home time, ready to take your completed Angel home and show off your creation to your family and friends.
To ensure the quality of your personal experience, group size will be limited to 8.

About Chris Baxter
Chris has an exceptional talent and skill as a basket maker. Expressing her art genes originally through Fine Art she then turned to working with willow. Tutored by Jane Jennifer in Diss on the Norfolk/Suffolk border, her teachings has come from a confirmed heritage that began over 100 years ago starting with Ronnie Woods family. A member of the Basketmakers’ Association she shares their aim “to promote the knowledge basketry, chairseating and allied crafts…”
Working locally she produces bespoke commission pieces and regularly teaches willow workshops. Working in willow that is harvested in the UK (Nottinghamshire and Somerset)
