It will take place on Saturday, March 2, and will feature a live band early in the evening and a DJ later on, plus locally produced food from the Feast and Furious (smoked brisket and a vegetarian offering) and Melton Charcuterie (hog roast).

Of course, there will also be a great choice of beer and gin from Round Corner and Brentingby.

  • The Good Intentions @ The Geese & Fountain, Croxton
    03/03/2019 17:00 - 03/03/2019 19:00

    This is a special one.

The Good Intentions are husband and wife duo R Peter Davies and Gabrielle Monk. Based in Liverpool, they have emerged over the last few years as part of the new wave of UK alt-country acts. Fusing old-time country with a traditional British sensitivity, they have developed their own singular voice and sound. In 2011, they were voted Best Americana Band at the British Country Music Awards.

The GI's have released 3 albums to date, toured in the UK, US & Europe. They have also guested on the legendary Bob Harris Country show on BBC Radio. Now they're coming to the Geese and Fountain.

“These songs are not just timeless, they are true classics, right up there with the best of the Louvins, the Delmores, the Blue Sky Boys, and early Everlys” . (Maverick)

“Traditional country, Americana, call it what you will…it’s nigh on musical perfection.” (Alan Cackett)

  • Craft Ale in Croxton Kerrial: A Toxic Beer Festival
    08/03/2019 11:00 - 08/03/2019 17:00

Geese and Fountain have been working with the newly-formed ‘Team Toxic’ breweries (Sue Hayward of ‘Waen Brewery’ and Gazza Prescott of ‘Mission Creep’, formerly of 'Hopcraft'), we’ll be bringing you a craft beer festival like those you might expect to find taking place in an urban hipster bar, but doing the whole thing with a ‘village pub’ feel. So if craft beer by a real fire is your thing, this is definitely the event for you.

More details will be announced very soon, but for now, be tempted by the following highlights:

    Tasting Sessions
    Panel Discussions
    Food and Beer Matching Meals
    Live Music
    Beer-themed Movies

We’re hoping to involve at least one brewery trip into the mix, and there’ll be lots of opportunity to interact with Sue and Gazza, and other brewers over the course of the weekend. And, of course, there’ll be lots of lovely beer.
