Looking for a fantastic evening of great film in a stunning location? “As you wish”.
Tudor Hall Film Club returns with a screening of excellent cult comedy fantasy The Princess Bride (PG), much of which was filmed in nearby Derbyshire and Sheffield. A mainstay of Top 100 lists, this hilarious but heartwarming pastiche of romantic fairytales was adapted from William Goldman’s book, directed by When Harry Met Sally’s Rob Reiner and features an all-star cast including Cary Elwes, Robin Wright, Mel Smith, Billy Crystal, Christopher Guest and more.
Enjoy this glorious storybook adventure in the stunning and sympathetic surroundings of the Tudor Hall, built around 1530. Under its impressive beams and within its striking stone walls you’ll feel part of the action even more!
The screening begins at 7pm with the bar open from 6pm and will be introduced by historian and film aficionado Adam Nightingale. Guests are also welcome to join a post-film discussion in the bar. Tickets, costing only £5, are limited for this exclusive event so make sure to book early by calling 01636 655765 or visiting www.nationalcivilwarcentre.com/events.
