The King Edward 100 – named after the King Edward the Elder, who established the Saxon Manor house in Newark, in the 11th Century, later to become the site of Newark Castle is a classic choice of routes for another of Sportive HQ’s great value sportives. With fantastic HQ location less than 5 minutes from the A1 it’s easy to get to from many directions!
Having some of the quietest roads we have ever seen, we wanted to share with you some fantastic riding along these lanes around North Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. A few hills early on in the ride followed by some long straight flats into some of the most scenic villages Ancaster, Folkingham and Heckington to name but a few. On the longer routes you don’t have to confirm your distance until after the feed station, so see how you feel on the day, no pressure.
There will be free photos to download from Adie’s Photography, a top local cycling photographer.
We hope that after you’ve tried the King Edward 100, you’ll be hooked on our value for money sportives where a great day out on the bike is all that matters.
