The Genny B (Generous Briton): ‘Breach’ 9.30pm
It was a busy old night last time they played and I know I only caught the end, I know I really rated them, my Diary says “Sounded Amazing! Check out a video here! and decide for yourself. (This is a Facebook Live Video and not my normal HD Quality, but it gives you the Idea)
‘Breach’ are a four-piece rock, blues and indie covers band from Derby, comprising of two guitars, bass and drums and three vocalists. The band was formed back in 2014 by members who met through other musical projects, and quickly realised there was the potential to create something special. They play all over the midlands, but this will be their first time in Melton Mowbray. Including artists in their sets such as ZZ Top, Nirvana, The Undertones, Muse, Cream and Radiohead to name a few, you can expect to hear both classic rock greats and modern indie anthems at their gigs. With hits from the last 60 years from their extensive and ever- expanding repertoire there is always something for everyone. They genuinely love what they do, and it always shows.. Their aim is simple… Put on a great show to ensure that the atmosphere will be electric, and the crowd will be chanting for more everytime…
The Noels Arms: ‘Thin White Dukes’ (David Bowie Tribute) 9.30pm
Frontman and local legend Paul Schamp (Scampi) and friends return with their tribute to David Bowie throughout the eras. We’re big Bowie fans here at The Noel’s, and so we’re a tough crowd to please when it comes to Bowie covers. His timeless tunes are in safe hands with this band though, whose high quality musicianship really do them justice. We can’t wait
Melton’s David Bowie Tribute Band, The Thin White Dukes make a triumphant return to The Noels Arms. They are led by the Mercurial Scampi on vocals, alongside Ken Murray (Guitar) and Neil Eaves (Keyboards and Guitar), the band return to the live scene with two new members in Adam Giblett (Drums) and Keith Brooks (Bass). You may have spotted that many of the band also play in Sticky Fingers, the Rolling Stones tribute band and the Thin White Dukes bring that same love for reproducing classic music yet retaining the spontaneity and joy that live music brings.
The Thin White Dukes play numerous anthems taken from Bowie’s extensive catalogue of songs and you can expect to hear classics such as Ziggy stardust, Heroes, Rebel Rebel, Let’s Dance, Space Oddity and Life on Mars. Previous outings for the band have been celebrated successes and you’re guaranteed a night of fun, singing and dancing to celebrate the wonderful legacy and music of David Bowie.
The Video below clearly shows Scampi and the Guys performing at the Noels, but all isn’t as it seems. This Video that has been watched 1800+ Times !!! Was taken at “Jamurary” The Noel’s Arms Jam Night. The new project was coming into fruition so they only performed a few numbers as a teaser of which, this is one of them! See the full Gamut of Bowie Material tonight in their first full gig, with a new Rhythm Section (Drummer and Bass Player)
Neil asked if I use this video that there should be a disclaimer, so here Goes: Its Facebook Live so not the best quality, because of this its Portrait so the wrong orientation. It features two members who no longer play for the Duke’s. So why use it? Listening to it as I type these words, it raises the hairs on the back of my neck and completely and utterly captures the Bowie performance. This is what it would be like in the 70’s if Bowie played your local! Why not complete that mental picture and come on down in your flares you Rebel Rebel.
Hopefully we can recapture this beauty in Glorious FULL HD. Neil?

Doesn’t tell you much does it? Such a talented singer yet not a lot to go on. The Video below is from November 2017. It wasn’t even Georgia’s Gig, she stood in for another singer that night short notice. I know the quality of the video isn’t much, but the quality of the performance is what you need to see! Most of the 1.5K views where racked up within 24hrs. Phenomenal.
The Half Moon: Tiny Tony and Karaoke
‘Machines’ is the name of the band formed by Don John Maxwell, Dave Mackintosh & Fletch Fletcher
Don plays a Fender V1 bass and takes on most of the lead vocals. He has had a very active career in music over the years, always bringing in strong harmony vocals and achieving huge success in the 70s & 80s with prog rock band “Canned Rock” (4 albums) and in more recent years with “Maxwell Hammer & Smith” band.
Dave Mackintosh, ex “DragonForce” drummer, has constantly toured the world with Dragon Force, and after 10 years, 5 albums and countless videos, has finally decided to slow down a little and get some normality back into his life. Dave also has a great vocal range which is essential for the close harmony work Machines incorporate into their show.
“Fletch” Fletcher is on guitars and vocals. Previously working as both session man and producer, Fletch has also worked in local Hertfordshire bands during his earlier years. His passion for sound and detail on guitar, and his vocal range bring a new dimension to the band’s sound.
Machines cover: Queen, Disturbed, Stereophonics, Manic Street Preachers, Rush, Metallica, Muse, Queens of the Stone Age, and The Who to name but a few. And RUSH!!!!!!!!!! THEY didn’t mention rUSH
Here’s a little 2112 by Rush, now, Any band that can do a little ‘Temples of Syrinx’ is worth a look in my book.
