SUNDAY-FUNDAY 9th June
New Park Bandstand: Summer Band Concert featuring ‘Ibstock Brick Brass Band’ 2.45pm
With it being the 75th Anniversary of D-Day, I Thought this clip, Elgar’s Nimrod was most appropriate.
The Noels Arms: ‘Calder McLaughlin’ 4pm
‘Calder McLaughlin’ is an engaging singer songwriter with a distinctive and powerful voice. His songs all have a compelling anthemic quality to them. He has been performing in Leicestershire and beyond for 10 years with various acts and has two albums to his name. He’s always a passionate and entertaining watch. I’ve seen Calder play many times now. This is a guy that certainly has that X Factor.
“I’ll be playing my most popular songs and a few choice covers that I enjoy playing” most Certainly a class act!
The Geese and Fountain (Croxton Kerrial): Geese Folk Acoustic and Folk Session 5pm
Second Sunday of every month is the Geese & Fountain Folk and Acoustic Club. Bring instruments, your voice, your songs or just your ears. And let’s have fun and maybe pizza!
The Half Moon: ‘Cailean’ 8pm
Over the years Cailean’s music has been influenced by such artists as The Eagles, Merle Haggard, The Everly Brothers, John Denver, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and many more. Country and Rock music plays a big part in Cailean’s repertoire, but a set list that includes music from Del Shannon to Bruno Mars, Guns & Roses, Bad Company and The Kings of Leon allows scope to cater for a diverse audience if required. Along with his fantasic vocal range, his quick wit and banter make him an instant hit with audiences young and old, returning to venues time and again by popular demand.
