Taking tea in the afternoon is a tradition that has been enjoyed since the early nineteenth century when the Duchess of Bedford is credited with introducing the custom to fill the long gap between luncheon and dinner.
Afternoon tea is served in the Drawing Room and Breakfast Room at Allington Manor and when the weather permits during the summer, it can be enjoyed on the manor garden lawn. Afternoon tea is hosted on selected Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sunday afternoons between 2:30pm – 5:30pm (last table booking 4pm).
The occasion is perfect for small gatherings as well as for birthday celebrations or club and society social meetings. If you would like to arrange afternoon tea for a group of twelve or more people, we welcome private bookings and invite you to contact us to arrange an afternoon that suits your group.
Our selection of loose leaf teas are sourced by Stokes of Lincoln and our cakes are freshly prepared by Wendy Richardson in Orston, both of which are well renowned suppliers in Lincolnshire and the East Midlands.
